Thank me later for making you famous…

You know I don’t normally do this but “it’s Friday, I aint got no job, and I don’t got shit to do.”

Last night I got an email from a concerned fan named Ben from the UK who wanted to let us know that while he was doing a search of FRSH on the internet he found a company called KING FRSH. He had thought it seemed a bit fishy that this new streetwear company had a lot of the same similarities as our very own FRSH.

Oh man, where do I start … Just by looking at these two images above, I can already see combinations of so many elements whether it be our old icon the ghost and knives or the catchy slogans, “Respect my FRSH” and not to be outdone “Tales of the FRSH”. Once I saw these things I began to ask the basic questions, could it just be a mere coincidence? I mean we aren’t THAT big but it’s possible maybe they are from Virginia or Tallahassee where our brand might not be that popular, but no they’re from L.A. so I’d say there is a decent chance they have heard of our shitty little brand, but still who knows.

I mean with the growth of a brand like IM-King, it would only make sense to combine the names “King and FRSH”, pure coincidence, because the words are very common words. It’s not like IM-King invented the word KING or FRSH invented the word FRSH, wait is the word FRSH or is it FRESH… I wonder where their “E”went? Oh well I’m sure that can be explained also.

That’s a damn good looking graphic! I wonder how the artistic thought process went down?

I bet it went a little something like this…

Don’t get me wrong, if this was all an accident I truly am sorry there is nothing worse than getting accused of biting something you really didn’t. Recently as you may or may not know we released a Pac Man X FRSH Charity shirt which was a big deal for us being huge fans of Manny and wanting to help out a good cause. We hired some extra people just to help us promote the piece and get it the exposure it deserved.

One of the awesome sites that helped us and previewed the shirt was www.freshnessmag.com. I was really surprised when I checked the comments because there were sooo many!! Then as I began to read them I saw what appeared to be some angry people. I know most of you probably have never heard of them but there is this brand called “That’s Them” and I really wish I could pinpoint who they are because then I could go, “Oh That’s Them!”

I even googled them to see if there was something, so that I could read up on them and see more of what they were about but again nothing… :(

Apparently world famous skateboarder Willy Santos was wearing this shirt which I think was given to him by the “That’s Them” guys. Their die hard followers and supporters were quick to say that we bit the above shirt with the shirt you see below.

There are definitely some similarities, I mean I will admit we did use boxing gloves for the pound for pound best boxer in the world, and OK fine I will also say that we used a Filipino flag for the single biggest icon in the Philippines. Some would argue that how could a company like ours know what shirt a brand that no one can find online and by their own admission made only 100 of 3 years ago, copy when making this tee ourselves.

Most people aren’t man enough to come clean when they are exposed or caught. I on the other hand am, below you will see the original Pac Man X FRSH shirt before we got our inspiration from the “That’s Them” guys. I just want to apologize to everyone for doing this, and promise FRSH will try it’s hardest from here on out to be as original as possible.

I know it isn’t the best design ever but I just thought that rather than use something like boxing gloves and Filipino flag colors, why not use a sail boat because hey, “Manny always SAILS to victory!” Maybe we will release this shirt at a later date and give “That’s Them” the proceeds to make up for this travesty.

By the way, I just found this new shirt LRG did and I can NOT believe they copied the “That’s Them” guys also!!! Listen LRG if you think you can get away with this just because you didn’t use the Filipino colors, you have another thing coming.

Didn’t you know “That’s Them” invented boxing?
